Adult Beginner Dance
Technique offers dance students a gentle and
compassionate way in to ballet basics, jazz lines, and
modern dance foundations. This class was designed
specifically for the dedicated adult dancers at Rhythms
understanding that some have never had dance training while
others have but it was many years ago. This class was
created to support Rhythms dancers getting more out of their
dance classes, feeling safer in combinations that are
technique oriented, and ultimately increasing their fun.
Dance Technique fosters better posture, longer lines,
cleaner turns, and safer jumps. It's never too late to learn
how to dance stronger in order to dance longer. |
Adult Hip Hop-
This style of dance is accessible to everyone who wants to
dance. The focus on different hip hop styles while learning
basic combinations to great music will make you feel like a
pro.

Afro-Caribbean Dance - The goal of
this class is to infuse the community that attends with the
joy of acknowledging the bounty of life through community
dances. Some of the dances taught include to Samba from
Brazil; a joyous dance performed at the time of Carival, Koy
from Haiti; and West African dance. This class is open to
all levels of dancers from beginner to advanced. |
African Dance - A
holistic approach to drum, dance and song that is fun,
encouraging and accessible, with a focus on joyful
exploration. Connecting mind, body, and spirit,
students learn to express themselves through a powerful and
lyrical vocabulary of rhythm and dance. |

Belly Dance Workout–
Be prepared to tone, strengthen, sweat and laugh! An ancient
Greco-Turkish tradition that will leave you feeling strong and
powerful! Barefoot. Bring a hip scarf! |
Dance and Yoga Workout-
In this class you will get to get a good sweat after dancing
to the rhythms of world music and turning the heat into
holding and deepening yoga postures.

Hand Drumming
- Learn hand drumming techniques through exercises,
games and polyrhythms. Build self-confidence and
empowerment through group dynamics while exploring your own
inner rhythms. Sharpen your focus and concentration
through rhythm repetition and entrainment while increasing
mental and physical coordination. |
Hip Hop
Jazz Funk
- Move and groove to the slammin' sounds of Motown or rock
to the sounds of the '60's. Find your inspiration to
move in a variety of music and dance styles, including hip
hop, jazz and funk. |

Jazz/Modern
- A fun and exuberant class that allows adults to really
move through space with sensuality and grace using both Jazz
and Modern techniques. |
Latin Dance Workout-
There is nothing like the
rhythms of Salsa, Meregue, Cha Cha and Bachata to really get
your hips and heart going. In this class the basic moves of
theses dances are used to warm-up and within short
choreographies when then end with partner dance. Feeling of
being on vacation guarantied! |

Salsa Dance - A basic Latin dance class focusing on
salsa, bachata, merengue and cha cha cha. A dance
party follows to allow couples to practice and enjoy their
new moves. |
Shake Your Soul® - Shake Your Soul®
is a moving experience where music inspires your
spirit, dynamic movements free your body, and entrancing
rhythms call forth the power of your soul! Shake Your Soul®
draws from modern and African dance, Body-Mind Centering,
yoga, qi kung and Body-Centered Expressive Therapy. All of
these influences merge into a seamless whole that evokes
spirited movement that’s healing for your physical and
emotional heart. |

Fundamentals of Argentine Tango - Learn the dance known
for its beauty. Steps preparing you for a typical
milonga (tango dance party) -- Parallel and Cross Walk,
Front and Back Ochos, the Cross, and Giro -- will be taught.
Intermediate Tango - The
focus for this class is on improving improvisational and
technical skills while executing more complicated moves. |

Qi gong -
Qi gong
combines breath, movement and intention to build your life
force energy. This class will teach you simple yet powerful
ancient Chinese exercise and meditation forms to revitalize
your energy, relieve stress, enhance your immune system, and
hasten the body's natural healing process and well being of
the mind, body and spirit.
This class will energize and awaken a reservoir of inner
energy that lives in your core and with power and grace.
Moving this energy throughout the body will create a
peaceful and dynamic vitality in both the mind and body. |

Pilates-
Pilates is a form of exercise which emphasizes
the balanced development of the body through
core strength, flexibility and awareness. The
top benefits of doing pilates exercises that
people report are that they become STRONGER,
LONGER, LEANER AND MORE ABLE TO ANYTHING WITH
GRACE AND EASE.

Yoga
Classes
Originating from a Sanskrit word, yoga, means to join or
unite. The practice of yoga improves health, encourages
movement toward mental and emotional peace and provides
tools to cultivate an overall sense of joy and well-being.
Rhythms offers a variety of levels of yoga practice:
Gentle/Beginner || Intermediate/Moderate ||
Vigorous/Advanced

Prenatal
yoga-
can be an ideal way to stay in shape during your
pregnancy. This age old practice keeps you
limber, tones your muscles, and improves your
balance and circulation. Yoga is also
beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe
deeply and relax...which will come in handy, not
only during labor and birth but in motherhood as
well!

Baby-n-me
yoga-Baby
-n-me yoga class is a great time for baby and
mom to bond. This class will focus on the
physical needs of a woman after she has given
birth and the special bond between her and her
baby. Each class is a fun and dynamic set of
yoga poses that engage not only the mom but
stimulate the baby as well. Class is recommended
for babies as young as 6 weeks old.

Yoga 101
- This yoga class is designed to help you get
the fundamentals of yoga following the principles Anusara
style blended in within a nice flow. You will learn how to
align in different postures, how to deepen your breathing
with pranayama breathing techniques and overall increase
your flexibility and stamina while gaining more peace of
mind. Open to people who have never done yoga or who wants
to deepen their practice through correct postural alignment.

Hip Yoga- Hips and lower
back injuries are closely related. In this class you will
learn how to open your hips while strengthening your lower
back. You will gradually find yourself smiling more and more
as your hips feel freer and will find that your back does
not hurt so much. Open to beginners yogis who want to learn
how to do the different hips and low back bends without
hurting or any yogis who wants to go deeper in their hip and
low back practice. |

Men's
Stretch & Yoga - A men's only opportunity to stretch,
de-stress, and engage in a moderate yoga practice that
inspires, cultivates stillness within, and strengthens and
stretches the body, mind and spirit. |
Moderate Flow
Yoga - This class builds on a systematic series of yoga
postures designed to increase strength and flexibility.
Here, you will be guided through the sun salutation, with
additional postures added as the class progresses. |

Moderate/Vigorous - In
this class you will challenge yourself
with longer holding of positions, as well as fast flowing
movement for strength and stamina; practice advanced
breathing and meditation techniques for stress reduction. |
|
Power yoga-
60 minute class
demands your attention! It will bring together
breath...movement...intention and relaxation.
By unleashing you true power it is effortless to
thread your mind and body together as
one. Through this powerful practice you will
allow your authentic-self to emerge.

Slow
Flow Yoga - A vinyasa flow to awaken the body's
energy. Discover
how to build up energy though movement and allow it to flow
slowly. |
Vinyasa
Flow (Vigorous)

In
this flow class you will work from posture to posture in a
powerful yogic dance. You will see threads of Kriya,
Ashtanga, Hatha, and many yoga genres woven into this class.
Previous yoga experience is recommended. |

Yoga for Cyclists and
Runners- This class focuses on balancing the
runner and cyclist's body. Opening the hips, stretching the
quadriceps, loosening up the hamstrings as well as
strengthening the upper body and abdominal muscles will all
be part of the flow. Basic breath techniques will be
incorporated to increase mental focus and relax the mind,
supporting people in achieving better level of performances. |

Creative Movement, Modern Dance,
Jazz, Hip Hop, Musical Theatre, Hand Drumming and Yoga

Beginners Modern Ages 8+-
Students will focus on building a basic understanding of
modern technique while learning to loosen, strengthen and
explore their body's movement vocabulary. |
Creative Movement for Ages 4-6 - This class
allows young students the opportunity to explore imaginary
play through movement and games. Young students are
encouraged to express their inner creativity in a safe and
welcoming environment. |
|
Creative Movement Ages 7-9-
Students will be encouraged to work imaginatively with
others as a team. Movement concepts will include directions,
levels, planes of movement qualities in a fun and
encouraging environment.
|
Intro to Afro-Jazz for Ages 9+ - For beginning level
Jazz Dance Students. Students will experience a high-energy
class that will offer them the opportunity to explore
traditional African dance with a fusion of Jazz styles. |

Beginner Jazz for Ages
8+ -
Classes will include center and across the floor
practice for a technical and stylistic foundation, and the
study of Jazz movement combinations are taught.
|
Advance Beginner Modern Jazz
Ages 9+- Warm up includes jazz isolations and across the
floor on turns, kicks and jumps. With an emphasis on
musicality and creating an overall visual picture, the class
culminates in choreographed combinations. The instructors
Modern Jazz style emphasizes strong and proper body
alignment and clean technique through placement stretch and
strengthening exercises. |

Teen Modern Jazz Ages 12+-
This class explores the joy of Modern Jazz dance and
emphasizes the foundations necessary for achieving a clear
understanding of basic progressive footwork and style. Great
music and lots of fun!! |
Musical Theatre Dance Ages
9+- Students will explore essential jazz moves that form
the basis of musical theatre choreography. |

Rhythms Dance for Boys Ages
8-11-
This dance class is designed to help both
athletic young boys as well as boys who are needing more
movement activity in their lives to come together in a dance
class that’s fun as well as challenging. We will be drawing
from modern dance, jazz and hip hop to help boys show that
they too can dance. The class will help boys find that
dance is an athletic experience that is non-competitive and
aids them in the development of rhythm, coordination,
strength, flexibility, focus, fun and discipline.

Hip Hop for Ages
8-11 - These classes will explore the basics
of popping, locking and break dancing. Students will
learn foundational movements and their historical context of
Hip Hop. Students focus on basic vocabulary, some movement
combinations and individual choreography.
|
|
Hip Hop Ages 12+.
Students will use the fundamentals of Hip Hop to work on
more complex movement combinations and will create their own
choreography using personal music choices. |
Intro to West-African Style Hand
Drumming for Ages 7-14 - Learn hand drumming techniques
through exercises, games, and African
poly-rhythms. Build self confidence and empowerment through
group dynamics while students explore a variety of rhythms
such as West African. Students are also asked to bring their
own hand drum if they have one.

Yoga for Kids Ages 4-8
- In this class children will be introduced to the basis of
yoga- postures and breath while maintaining their creativity
through play and explorative movements. |
Yoga for Kids Ages 8+
- Introduce your child to a natural and healthy way to
exercise, relax, focus and strengthen the mind/body/spirit
connection through this class. |
